Careers Related to the Subject
Kiswahili is the language of the labour force in Kenya and in the countries of Eastern African including Rwanda and Burundi, and wherever there is a mixed population of speakers of different languages. It is therefore suitable to all those who wish to engage in commercial and business enterprises, and to all those who want to pursue careers in Journalism, Law and Medicine. Those who wish to work for NGOs, the Civil Society, the United Nations agencies as interpreters and document translators will find Kiswahili useful. It is also used in banking, insurance and tourist trade. It is one of the two languages used in Parliament and politicians find themselves lacking if they don’t know Kiswahili.
