Whether you are a current student, a prospective parent or student, a teacher interested in employment opportunities, or a visitor seeking to learn more about our school, this web site is meant to provide key information for you. It is also intended to clarify the various aspects of our declared mission, vision core values and the procedures and processes that are involved.
Oshwal Academy Nairobi, Junior High has set as our mission to cultivate future leaders and productive citizens by challenging our students with high academic standards and stimulating extra-curricular opportunities. Our goals are to develop every student’s intellect, set challenges for the high achievers and to ensure that students meet all challenges successfully. We have provided an educational. setting that is a key source in the intellectual, spiritual and cultural growth of our students. The setting is balanced, comprehensive, rigorous and challenging. The curriculum in place seeks to support individual student needs and talents. It is broadly assessed, enjoyable and aspires to recognized standards.
Oshwal Academy Nairobi Junior High has always had a reputation for excellence, and we set the standards. The academic development of children in our school is coupled with club, social, co-curricular and a lot of extra curricular activities. Our teachers encourage pupils to succeed and to take pride in their achievements. The school’s motto tells it all -Compass for Life Skills. To ensure that our students are socially mobile and interactive, ambitious and self-directed, Oshwal Academy Nairobi Junior High seeks to make our students all-rounders, appreciative of the local and international scene and prepared to serve as responsible members of the world community
Oshwal Academy students deservedly succeed in all spheres of their lives, be it business, service or social work. We leave no stone unturned to see that the students get nothing but the best, whether it be material or human resources.
In the following pages, prospective parents, students, teachers etc are encouraged to familiarize themselves with the following:-
(a) The admission policy: This is based on an entrance test in Mathematics and English. The test is set and administered by the school and there is no compromise on quality of performance in the entrance examination.
(b) The operational academic policy: This is shared with both the students and the parents upon admission on the following:
- Specific learning and academic performance that the school deems will contribute to the development of Oshwal Academy Nairobi Junior High as a Centre of Excellence
- System and procedures of assessing student performance
- Examinations and tests
- Requirements and condition for promotion to the next class
- Class and school attendance
(c) The Instructional expectations: The Oshwal Academy Nairobi, Junior High requires that teaching approaches or content delivery be based on “whole child” philosophy; that learning be made enjoyable, fun and a rewarding experience. An early warning system for identification of weak and slow learners is in place. A remedial programme aimed at bringing improvement involves parent right from the beginning.
