Message from Deputy Head Master
We at Oshwal Academy Nairobi-Junior High believe that every child is a gift of god, is precious and is different from others. Every one of them is talented in his/her own way, the only thing they need from us is a little bit of guidance and all the support to nurture their talent and help them progress in their individual lives.
Reading, English, Mathematics and Science lie at the heart of our curriculum. We aim to deliver these subjects not in a ‘woolly’ way but with a rigorous systematic way stemming from proven traditional teaching methods along with the best that modern practice has to offer: Interactive white boards, the everyday use of IT and the latest modern texts, as they are all important parts of our teaching, but none of these can, or will, ever replace a quality teacher.
At Oshwal Academy Nairobi-Junior High, the overwhelming majority of our teachers are recruited with vast professional experiences at the various British Curriculum schools in the country and abroad.
Our staff is familiar with the standards and expectations of the top UK schools and consistently apply those standards here at Junior High to prepare our pupils for the international boards of Edexcel and Cambridge.
Regular homework is set to support and extend the children’s learning, moreover, it begins to instill self-discipline and independent study both vital as the children progress through their IGCSE. Based on honest, careful evaluation of a child’s capabilities, the teacher will ask parents to support a child’s learning in the home.
It is a proven fact that where parents support the children at home, the children make better progress. A good school does not concentrate solely on academics. At Oshwal Academy Nairobi-Junior High, through a comprehensive range of Co / extra-curricular activities, children are encouraged to develop their talents.
Our range of activities encompass all the major sports and teams compete regularly at all levels. Artistic activities: Drama, Music, Dance and the Creative Arts are available to all through specialist staff and academic activities allow the children to pursue areas of academic interest to new levels with subjects such as languages, Debates and Science congress.not forgetting our sporting powerhouse , which is ever so dynamic.
Like our parents, we also want the best for every Junior High pupil. We expect them to lift themselves to the maximum heights. We expect them to work hard, to play hard and to achieve to the very best of their abilities. Through their conduct and their achievements we expect them to be a credit to their parents and their school.
Thank you.
Mrs Geetika Saxena
Deputy Head (Junior High)
