- Our CurriculumThe school offers the IGCSE curriculum under the EDEXCEL BOARD. It also offers Drama, Hindi, Music and Physical Education under the CIE BOARD. The Academic Year runs from September to July Pupils are admitted in year 7, after completing Key Stage II of the British National Curriculum or Standard 6 of the Kenya Certificate of Primary Education. They cover Key Stage III in years 7, 8 & 9.

- Our ActivitiesStudents assist in organizing school functions and raising funds. The clubs instill a sense of belonging among the pupils and make them a part of the school community in all aspects of school life. The clubs also organize trips within and outside the country. They are managed by students, elected for a one-year term. Each club is under the care of a teacher, who is the club patron.

Career Guidance
THE CAREERS AND GUIDANCE COUNSELLING DEPARTMENT.
The Oshwal Academy Nairobi Junior high takes pride in having fully fledged comprehensive GUIDANCE and CAREERS counseling Department with a full time professionally trained Counsellor dedicated to the students, parents and teachers.
The primary focus of the school counseling program is to promote and enhance student learning for all students through Academic Development, Personal/Social and College/Career Development Counseling.
ACADEMIC DEVELOPMENT COUNSELLING:
The school Guidance Counselor works in a collaborative approach to support the student learning process and promote academic achievement with consideration of student ability and learning style. The counselor provides guidance and support to the students who may be facing barriers to academic success. The counselor guides the students to understand the source of their problem and to set achievable academic goals.
On-Going Academic Counseling
- Monitoring academic progress/individualized goal-setting/academic planning
- Consultation with teachers, Child Study Team/assessments for special needs and referrals.
PERSONAL AND SOCIAL GUIDANCE COUNSELLING:
The School Counselor guides students in acquiring the attitudes, knowledge, and interpersonal skills to help them understand and respect self and others through:
- Small Group Counseling – coping with teen years, adolescent issues, high school transition
- Individual Counseling – personal/social issues, referrals, crisis intervention
COLLEGE/ CAREER DEVELOPMENT COUNSELLING:
The School Guidance Counselor assists Students in acquiring the skills to explore individual post high school plans and make informed future decisions through college admissions counseling, vocational / technical counseling, and employment. The Counselor works in a collaborative approach with Universities, outside agencies, employers and through community networking to meet the Career needs of all students through:
Subject selection, career fairs, college networking, college planning, job skills, job shadowing etc.
CAREERS LIBRARY:
The School Guidance Counselor maintains a well stocked and updated career library with prospectus from Top Universities around the world.
